Sono contraddistinte da un forte accademismo e da una ricerca anatomica e tecnica che richiama la pittura del passato, nonostante la forma, il segno e il colore inizino a sgretolarsi.The works of this period were made between 2001 and 2005 or so. In questo periodo che si protrae fino al 2010 circa, le figure sono caratterizzate da una nuova figurazione, più luminosa, meno cupa, ma ugualmente drammatica.
